With all the political hoopla these days we needed to get away from it all. Arizona fit the bill and provided us with a stellar road trip. Now enjoy some photos!

Our road trip to Nothing, Arizona has ended. It was 1000 miles of sweltering heat, amazing scenery, and adventure. And I nearly stepped on a rattle snake. I captured a multitude of photos. but here are just a few while I do some organizing.

Time for a road trip. We’re in the market for something cheap, a place without crowds, and it must be adventurous. What better place to go than Nothing, Arizona?! More to come regarding our Nothing trip.
Once in a while you just have to take a break from the stressful life of unemployment. So that’s what we did, despite that fact that we may or may not be employed. Our location of choice was Anza; just far enough away to see the stars and harbor a big campfire. The item of interest this time was a hefty rope. Despite its cactus-like composition, we spent a great deal of time scaling boulders which otherwise would not have been possible. Now enjoy some visual documentation.

We are still staying in Indio and decided to take advantage of our relatively close location to the desert trails. Some may think us to be stupid riding a bike which must be push-started out into such sandy terrain. We are definitely pros at push starting now. We rode the beginning of Bradshaw Trail and also the very-enjoyable Red Canyon.

We are enjoying a week in Indio (Indio – not India). The first couple days have been replete with eating tasty delights, running amuk on the golf course, and some motorcycle adventures. Today we managed to get ourselves stuck in the desert. Being that AAA towing was a little out of range we had to call for some family for assistance. What a great adventure it was. More to come.

The space shuttle Atlantis is making its final journey; currently docked to the International Space Station, orbiting the earth every 91 minutes. This evening we were able to view it for four minutes as it reflected the sun’s light. Visit this NASA site to see sighting opportunities.

Nestled at the base of Palomar Mountain is Lazy H Ranch, a delightful motel built in the 1920’s. However, our trip was far from lazy. There was a plethora of motorcycle riding, game playing, and laziness. The weekend also included numerous mechanical problems which we were able to overcome by ignoring them. Despite the rapid entropy of our vehicles, we had tremendous amounts of enjoyment.

A couple APU acquaintances and I acquired free tickets for the Huntington Library. We had a grand time perambulating about the premises, admiring everything from cactus to Newton’s own sketches.
